This adventure represents a great chance to discover the superb land of heavenly mountains, situated in the heart of Central Asia. The whole tour goes along the Great Silk Way passing all the way through the exciting Tian Shan Range. You will visit the world's 2nd largest alpine lake - Issyk-Kul; the charming Son Kul Lake, which is situated on a high flat terrain (3013m. above sea level) in the centre of Kyrgyzstan. You will be taken back to the time of nomadic way of life, their mores, culture and food. You will enjoy seeing untouched nature, wild places, and remarkable highlights of the middle centuries!
Tour summary:
Day 1: Bishkek city
You will be collected by your guide from the International Airport of Manas and accompanied to Bishkek City (30 minutes drive). On arrival in the capital you will start the day with a nice breakfast. The whole day is devoted to a guided Bishkek sightseeing tour. This tour includes the visiting of the central Ala-Too Square, Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Pobeda Square (Victory Square), the Museum of the Kyrgyz History, National Concert Hall, Oriental Bazaar, Art Gallery and many others places of interest. Lunch. Dinner will be served at 7 o'clock in the evening. You will spend the night in the hotel****.
Day 2: Bishkek - Son Kul Lake
After breakfast that is served at 8 o'clock in the morning you will be transferred to Son Kul Lake that is the 2nd biggest lake on the territory of Kyrgyz Republic. Shepherds of the Naryn Region come to the lake to use it as summer grass land. The Kyrgyz nomads with their families started to come to this amazing vicinity for rest and relaxation since ancient times. Son Kul Lake is situated at an altitude of 3013 meters above sea level, surrounded by the mountains and it is the highest alpine lake in the republic. Upon arrival at Son Kul you will have a lunch. Today, you will be free to explore and admire the pristine natural world of the lake and its surrounds. Dinner is served at 8 o'clock in the evening. The night will be spent in the yurt camp. Yurt is collapsible abode that is made out of wooden carcass and covered with felt. This house of nomad's is built without a single nail.
Day 3: Son Kul Lake - Tash Rabat Caravanserai (Stone castle)
You will be served breakfast at 8 o'clock after packing your backpacks. Transfer to the Tash Rabat - Great Silk Road Caravanserai that was constructed approximately in the 14th century A. D. Tash Rabat is located at the very heart of Tian Shan Mountains. It has no analogue in the whole world, because it was made of stones and furthermore it was built inside a mountain at a height 3200 m above sea level. There are 31 rooms in total. The walls width is about one meter. In Tash Rabat there are also dungeons for medieval culprits. At 7 p.m. traditional dinner will be served. Nearby Tash Rabat Caravanserai you will spend the night in yurts. Yurts are built without nails. It is made of a wooden frame, covered with thin felt mats.
Day 4: Tash Rabat - Kochkor valley
After a strengthening breakfast you will be transferred to Kochkor village (185 km). At the Kochkorka village you will meet a family that shows you the way of how national woolen felt carpets are produced. You even can create your own carpet. You will have a traditional dinner with a local family, accompanied by a special national music show. Overnight in the Kochkor Guesthouse.
Day 5: Kochkor valley - Tamga village
8 o'clock breakfast. Transfer (200 km) from the Village of Kochkor to the Issyk-Kul celestial Lake, the 2nd largest mountain lake in the world. The Lake is also called "the pearl of Central Asia". On the way you will drive through the gorgeous valley and you will pass the Orto Tokoi reservoir. On our arrival in Tamga village (1608m.above sea level) you will have a rest on the beach of the lake where you can lie on the warm sand or swim in the lake. Lake Issyk Kul possesses curative qualities, thanks to the salty water. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. In Tamga Guesthouse you will also spend the night.
Day 6: Tamga - Karakol
At 8 o'clock the day starts with a breakfast. After that you have free time till 12 p.m. to swim in the lake. After swimming, you will start your trip (50km) to Karakol town by car. You will have your lunch in Karakol. After lunch you will have a guided Karakol city tour. The tour includes the visit of the Dungan - Chinese mosque. One of its highlights is the fact that it is built in Chinese style without using a single metal nail. This will be followed by the visit of an old wooden Orthodox Church. Later, you will visit the museum of M.V. Prjevalsky, one of the world's greatest explores. His biggest successes were the crossing of the great desert of Taklamakan and the discovery of more than 4000 species of animals, including the Horse that was later named after the explorer. At 8 p.m. national dinner will be served. Overnight is in a guesthouse.
Day 7: Karakol - Bishkek
At 8 o'clock breakfast is served. You will be transferred to Cholpon Ata resort town after the breakfast. We will drive (120km.) the along the northern shore of the sparkling pearl of Central Asia - Issyk-Kul Lake. En route, we will make a short halt at 1 p.m., during which you could enjoy your lunch in a tranquil atmosphere. After lunch we will visit ancient stone inscriptions dating back to 800 B.C. that were made by the Saks and Usuns. You will also visit the local museum of Issyk - Kul. After that is transfer (280km) to Bishkek city by vehicle via stunning Boom Gorge. Overnight is in the Hotel****. A farewell dinner is served at 7 p.m.
Day 8: Bishkek - Europe
Your guide will meet you at your Hotel at the pick up time arranged previously according to your flight details and accompany you to Manas International Airport.
