The nature of Kyrgyzstan is very fabulous due to its various landscape which is mainly mountainous. The lowermost valley makes 400 metres above sea level. The Tien-Shan mountainous system is made of 80 dominant ranges. Three world-prominent peaks are found in Kyrgyzstan. They are named Pobeda (7439m), Lenin (7134m), and the mythical white marble pyramid of Khan-Tengri. In Kyrgyzstan there are nearby 2000 lakes totally.
Issyk-Kul Lake is the main touristic charm. It is the second biggest alpine lake in the world after Lake Titicaca which is located in South America. The lake is at the elevation of 1610m above sea level, 170 km. long, 70 km. wide, with a supreme depth of 695m.
Son-Kul Lake is the second biggest alpine lake in Kyrgyzstan at the height of 3014m above sea level, known for the nomadic style of life still practiced in its environs.
Chatyr-Kul Lake is one of the most attractive lakes, at height 3530m above sea level, with a maximum depth of 16m. The major rivers are the Naryn, Kara-Darya, Sary-Djaz, Chatkal, Chuy, Kekemeren and Isfairam-Sai rivers. Kyrgyzstan possesses a lot of glaciers which can reach to more than 800 and they make up more than 4% of the land area of the country. The outstanding glacier is 60km long and it is called Inylchek Glacier.
The flora in Kyrgyzstan is very rich and varied. There is a big walnut forest called Arslanbob, where you also can find varied fruit forests, very unique in their beauty and medicinal possessions. The slopes of the mountains are enclosed with large tracts of Tien-Shan spruce trees, Semenov fir, recurrent juniper, pistachio and almond, sea buckthorn, barberry, blackcurrants, honeysuckle, wild rose, and a wide variety of bourgeons and different medicinal herbs.
The fauna in Kyrgyzstan is very diverse too. There are about 80 mammals, over 300 species of birds and about 30 species of reptiles and amphibians. You have a nice chance to see various animals: beginning from the very tiny rodents and birds till biggest mountain inhabitants - carrion-crows, and mountain goat. Here, remote high elevation places of High Mountain lives snow leopard which is a national symbol for the republic.
Endangered animals of the country are the wild ram, bison, mountain ibex, roe deer, bear, lynx and snow leopard were included in The Red Book.
